Sleepy kitties hat

I took the kitty motif from the book Wild Mittens, Unruly Socks, and put it on the brim of my Lorne hat (Free pattern posted on January 16, 2021). The only problems is that I should have used bigger needles because it is a little too snug due to the stranding. I will probably knit another one for me and give this one away.

I got this book at the library too, but there were so many patterns and motifs in it that I ended up purchasing it. Great investment. Stay tuned for more projects from this book.

I'm Back

I have neglected this blog too long. I have mainly just been knitting so I felt like I had nothing to say. We are all healthy, the kitties are happy, and my sons are successful. What more can I say?

So I decided I need to just post the projects that I have completed even if I have nothing earth-shattering to say. So just get ready for lots of pictures of completed projects and even some links to patterns.

One of my favorite projects is fingerless gloves. This pattern is from the Knit Like a Latvian Accessories book which I got at the library.

So I am just going to post pictures of projects I have completed throughout the last couple of years, so be prepared for lots of posts over the next several days and weeks.

My Alaska Hat - Trees and Snow

I love this pattern. I used yarn from my stash including a Red Heart Symphony. I don't think it is available any more but it was perfect for this project. It is fluffy and a bit fuzzy, so it looks like snow.  This fuzz even floats over on the trees to make it seems there is snow on the branches. I just love how it turned out.

The pattern is by Camille Descoteaux and it is worth paying for the pattern. It is also very fun to knit even if you are new to stranding. I made it in about two days. Go for it.

Every Once in a While ...

One of the things I like to do it follow a chart while knitting. However, I get tired of it fast and can only do it for a hat or fingerless. This hat turned out so beautifully that I might have to indulge a bit more.
