I have a friend who loves corgis. She has had several throughout her life, so it is only fitting that she needs a potholder to match her baby. I think she actually had a corgi once named Baby, and one named Foxy. They were rescue corgis so they had those names before she got them so it was not her fault. All I remember about those is they barked a lot, but after that they were adorable. She only has one corgi now who is sweet and quieter.

Lab potholder - Sometimes only one side works
See the face of this adorable Labrador? Head tilted, sad, pleading eyes, so cute. In double knitting, the opposite colors show on the other side, much like the negative of a photograph. In most cases, it appears good, but this is not one of those potholders. Even I have a hard time seeing the lab on the negative side of the potholder. I can see the nose. That's about it. I guess not all pictures work being reversed.
Lesson learned.

Hot pads for Bella and Simone
I have cats. Two in fact. But my son Dane has dogs.
For his birthday, I made him some hot pads showing off his puppers (his word, not mine) named Bella and Simone. We get to dog-sit whenever he goes away, and also when he comes to visit us overnight. He lives about 2 hours away so we often get our dog-fix.
This is Bella (the other one is Dane). She's a German Shepherd/Husky mix. She has the most beautiful ice blue eyes. She is very sweet and always willing to play. She will bring you a ball so you can play with her. I don't think she ever get tired.
The hot pads are made using double-knitting using cotton yarn. The pattern is from Nifty Knitter Designs available through Ravelry.
This is Simone. She is a chihuahua/dachshund mix. And since dachshunds are also know as Weiner dogs, they are often called Chi-weenies. She is very affectionate and is not a "yappy" dog. If you sit down, she will be in your lap within one second!
They are just too cute for words!
Not everyone is a fan. Wookie and Omi have to stay upstairs during the dog visits.

Double knitting - part 2
My previous post about double knitting was about double knitting fingerless gloves with a cat motif. This one is done with a dog motif. I still forgot to take a picture of the final gloves turned inside out to show the beige side. Oh well, next time.
